Jewellers trade in love stories day in, day out. Whether it is an engagement ring for an excited young couple, an anniversary gift for long-time lovers, or a first jewel for a cherished younger member of the family, jewellery carries so much heartfelt emotion. Yet this doesn’t make them immune to the romance of truly special moments. For Valentine’s Day, I asked six designers what the most romantic commission they ever received – or, indeed, made for their own loved ones – was, and why it left such a lasting impression on them.
