Mocha Mousse: Getting Cosy with the Pantone Colour of the Year 2025

January 30, 2025

In keeping with its 25-year tradition, the Pantone Color Institute provided the fashion industry with a little winter pick-me-up back in December with the unveiling of its ‘Colour of the Year’ for 2025 – PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. Now that we’ve had a chance to delve deeper into this sumptuous shade of chocolatey, decadent brown, we can share the minerals and fine jewels that perfectly exemplify this warm hue.

Mocha Mousse is all about the sensual warmth of soft fabrics, oily leather and suede, cosy velvet, cashmere and angora, as well as warming aromas of cocoa, chocolate and coffee. But how can its ‘flavour’ reveal itself through nature’s minerals and beautifully crafted jewels? As if echoing Laurie Pressman’s words, many in the jewellery world have spotlighted new and existing creations, inviting us to feast on quartzes, tourmalines, and rare brown, cognac and champagne-hued diamonds, all with a mocha twist.

This story is available to Katerina Perez Club members.

In the continuation of the story:

• Discover how Mocha Mousse sets the tone for 2025.
• See how designers use rutilated quartz and smokey gems.
