TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) is an exhibition which was established in 1988 by art dealers, and has since grown to become one of the most anticipated fairs of the year in the world of fine art and high jewellery alike. Before you go to visit the fair, why not look through some highlights of Haute Joaillerie that will be showcased at 2018’s TEFAF Maastricht, held at the MECC Maastricht from 8th – 18th March.

Hemmerle

Hemmerle are often cited as being favoured by jewellery writers because of the wealth of unique features and materials used in their pieces. Pictured below are 5 of their new creations exhibited at TEFAF Maastricht 2018. Otto Jakob

For TEFAF Maastricht 2018, German art jeweller Otto Jakob has prepared 4 new pieces; an amulet, a ring, and two sets of earrings. One of the most spectacular creations is undoubtedly the ‘Impactus’ earrings, which are crafted from debris which was ejected from the impact of a meteorite landing 15 million years ago. Otto continues to be inspired by the spiritual power of Etruscan, Celtic and Hellenic jewellery, and this is clearly reflected in the design motifs of these latest pieces.

Verdura and Belperron

Debuting new and vintage collections at TEFAF this year, Verdura and Belperron focuse on highlighting each house’s archival designs. Verdura will debut the ‘Ravenna Cuff’ as the highlight of the ‘Breaking Away: The Quest for Colour’ collection. It was originally created by Verdura for Coco Chanel in the 1930s, and features green tourmalines tanzanites, aquamarines with amethysts. This is the first time that the cuff will have been displayed in over 80 years, and is truly a perfect representation of the combination between art and jewellery objects of importance which TEFAF presents. Belperron will debut its ‘Toujours’ collection, celebrating the agelessness of Suzanne Belperron’s designs; including the ‘Triple Wave’ cuffs, signature ‘Corne’ earclips and Serti Couteau ‘Paisley’ earclips.
