There is a crisp chill in the air, the snow has fallen and with that comes the time of hats, scarves, gloves and of course, a new set of jewels. Here are recommendations from top industry designers on how to style your jewellery this winter season.

Summer is often the season we most associate with wearing jewellery. With more skin on show and the warmth of the sun glistening against our bodies, everyone wants to sport a pair of brightly coloured earrings, a sparkling diamond necklace or a wrist stacked with rows of colourful bangles. However, some industry experts believe a winter wardrobe is a more exciting canvas for bejewelled self-expression. Below we have gathered a selection of opinions from trusted designers on how they recommend you style your jewels this winter.

This winter, I highly recommend wearing as many brooches as you can. For example, a brooch or two worn against the backdrop of a black turtleneck creates a sparkling statement as well as gives a twist to the ‘classic black’ style we often wear in winter.

This winter, I urge you to consider your jewels as your frosted armour. Every piece should embody the power and protection we need now more than ever. I try to provide strength and poetry in each of my sparkling metallic pieces, in the hopes that they will help you to face the harshness of winter, like a modern knight. Let’s put on our shields and swords!

Rings, rings, rings. I believe that rings are for every season. They assert your individuality, and your style and should always be timeless. I have designed rings in so many different variations and even now, years later, I can still create new motifs and bold colours for them.

This winter, immerse yourself in jewels that go beyond the ordinary. If you are looking to add a touch of glamour to your winter look, diamond necklaces are the perfect choice. The diamonds will not only capture the winter light magically but also convey a sense of luxury and sophistication. As for a sprinkling of boldness, bracelets are the answer. The combination of precious stones like diamonds and emeralds makes bracelets irresistibly charming. With intricate designs and refined details, bracelets can become a style statement.

To stand out from the crowd this winter season, I would suggest investing in big golden cuffs, either plain or with statement stone designs.

This winter, vibrant colours are all the rage. Whether it’s through intricate enamel patterns or warm-toned metals like gold and rose gold, you should seek to add a touch of warmth to your winter appearance. You can also delve into the natural colour palette of winter in your gem-centric pieces, by exploring gemstones like aquamarine, blue sapphire, turquoise, or moonstone, which evoke the serene beauty of winter landscapes, infusing seasonal charm into your jewellery.

This winter, layer bracelets subtly on your wrist, and add a pop of colour to echo the joy and vibrancy of the holiday spirit. Remember, it’s not about the quantity but the artistry of your chosen jewels, as they become the exquisite punctuation marks to your winter fashion narrative.
