Forever in Bloom: The Timeless Charm of Flowers in Jewellery
Flowers may fade in a vase, but flowers in jewellery—they bloom eternally. There’s a certain magic in seeing nature’s most delicate forms transformed into precious metals and gemstones, almost like capturing springtime in a jewel box. Year after year, petals, leaves, and botanical motifs flourish across the world’s most prestigious jewellery houses. Why? Because flowers carry timeless meanings of life, beauty, and renewal, and that is why they never fail to inspire.
Across the world of fine jewellery, many iconic maisons have embraced specific flowers as enduring emblems of their identity and craftsmanship. Dior is famously associated with roses, Chanel - with camellias, and Chaumet with ears of wheat and hydrangea. These floral motifs are more than mere decoration; they serve as storytelling devices and act as signatures of each renowned brand.

Is there a need for new flowers? Always, as it’s an eternal source of inspiration for jewellers and something so many women wish to have in their jewellery box. When there is a demand, jewellery designers listen, and in the last few months, we have witnessed the launches of three brand new flower collections.
Van Cleef & Arpels has a wealth of floral designs, and yet the Alhambra is the most recognised motif of the brand, which is more a leaf than a flower. Maybe the company directors felt the need for something more literal in a floral shape to become a new icon? Tasaki ‘joined the club’ with an abstract flower in the Chants collection, which has just been enriched with new models. Dior probably wanted to update its classical rose with something more daring and original, hence the introduction of Diorigami. Are these going to be the new floral icons of these maisons? We must wait and see, but for now, let’s have a closer look at each collection.

Chants by Tasaki
Tasaki’s Chants collection takes its name from the gentle rhythm of flowers and melodies, a reflection of the brand’s belief that jewellery can capture both movement and emotion. The designs draw inspiration from the organic flow of petals, with soft curves and clean lines that create a sense of harmony and balance. The flowers do not refer to any specific botanical species but rather represent an abstract three-leaf blossom – a motif that the brand incorporates into its chain or pearl necklaces, rings, and earrings.
At the centre of the collection are, of course, pearls — Tasaki’s signature — complemented by their own gold trademarked as SAKURAGOLD™ and pavé diamonds. From the lustrous Mabe pearl in the Chants Luxe diamonds piece to the flower-like outline of three petals around the neck, the designs are delicate yet impactful. There are options for both everyday wear and special occasions, including ‘the big day’ and various possibilities to mix and match jewels.
The Chants collection also introduces Tasaki’s first timepieces. A single Akoya pearl is integrated into the watch design, resting naturally against the softened bezel. The timepieces are offered in three dial finishes: mother-of-pearl, metallic shine and white dial, each paired with a colour-coordinated strap. For added versatility, one can purchase eight interchangeable satin-finished straps of various colours, offering a variety of combinations for personal styling. The overall look is contemporary and unmistakably Japanese, blending clarity, elegance and innovation in a way that defines Tasaki’s modern identity.

Diorigami by Dior
Inspired by the Japanese art of origami, the collection is full of joy, colour and couture-like precision. It’s delicate but bold, cute but couture, a playful mix that makes it feel just right for summer garden parties, sunny brunches, or whenever you want your jewellery to bring a smile.
What’s fascinating about Diorigami is the way it brings together such an unexpected mix of materials paired with symmetrical design. The earrings and necklace feature a kaleidoscope of opaque gemstones: pink opal, lepidolite, turquoise, yellow agate, chrysoprase and shimmering mother-of-pearl. They are separately cut in various flower forms and placed atop a gold frame outlining the flower petals. A diamond stud is then placed in the centre of each flower to hold the precious structure together, giving a jewel an extra dimension and a touch of sparkle.

Each gem is chosen not just for colour but for how the hues play together, soft pinks melting into turquoise blues and lemony yellows, giving a joyful, almost sorbet-like palette. The fine details, lacquered accents and asymmetric shapes offer the jewels movement and a whimsical, handcrafted charm. It is couture meets kawaii, showing that high jewellery can be both beautiful and fun.
Fleurs d’Hawaï by Van Cleef & Arpels
Van Cleef & Arpels takes us on holiday to paradise with its new Fleurs d’Hawaï collection, a vibrant celebration of colour and nature. Each piece feels like a bloom freshly picked from a lush Hawaiian garden, complete with golden petals, finely crafted gemstone corollas, and sparkling diamond centres.
What’s especially striking about the collection is the Maison’s use of five radiant gemstones to bring each flower to life: sunny citrine, violet amethyst, deep pink rhodolite, crystal-clear aquamarine, and bright green peridot. Carefully selected for their colour and clarity, many of these stones are cut in the beloved pear shape to mimic real petals, creating light, airy forms full of movement and sparkle.
Even the craftsmanship echoes nature. The petals appear to flutter as if caught in a breeze, while golden leaves introduce a touch of asymmetry and playfulness. One of the most interesting details is the hidden watch design — a mother-of-pearl dial tucked beneath a vibrant gemstone flower, revealed with a simple twist. This clever feature makes it both beautiful and wonderfully surprising.

Flowers have long been a favourite source of inspiration, and this season proves they still offer endless room for creativity. Whether bold or delicate, playful or elegant, floral jewels continue to bloom in wonderfully unexpected ways.
