The origin of the pinky ring stretches back to 3,500 BC Mesopotamia, where seals were worn to stamp tablets. Egyptians followed suit, merging the concept of the seal with jewellery in the form of signet rings, worn by pharaohs and high-ranking figures as both adornment and symbols of their authority.
